Ingredients
Recipe for 24 biscuits
125 g soft butter at room temperature
50 g sugar
50 g brown unrefined sugar / Muscovado /
1 large egg, at room temperature
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract or 1-2 vanilla powder
150 g of flour
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
50 g walnuts or pecans
100 g of dark chocolate / with 70% cocoa content / or chocolate chips / these are miniature pieces of chocolate /
Instructions
1 / In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with a mixer until creamy. Add both types of sugar and beat for 2-3 minutes until the mixture becomes fluffy.

2 / In a small bowl, lightly beat the egg and vanilla with a fork and gradually pour in the butter mixture, beating constantly with the mixer.
3 / Sift the flour, salt, and baking powder directly into the bowl with the egg-oil mixture and mix everything well with a wooden spoon.
4 / Nuts and chocolate are cut into small pieces. If chocolate chips are used, they do not need to be cut. Add to the mixture and stir with a wooden spoon until completely mixed

5 / Shallow tray covered with baking paper. Scrape one overflowing teaspoon of the mixture and place it on the baking paper at a distance from each other so that the biscuits
do not merge during baking. I distributed 5 teaspoons of the mixture on a tray. Several trays can be baked at the same time if the oven is large enough.
6 / The biscuits are baked at 190 C / 170 C fan / for 8-10 minutes or until they become slightly golden in color. In the middle of baking, the pan can be rotated to bake the biscuits evenly.
7 / After removing, leave to cool in the pan for 2-3 minutes and carefully transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. If desired, they can be sprinkled with powdered sugar. Store in a box for up to 4 days.
